The NewstrAid Benevolent Fund has been in existence for over 175 years. It was founded in 1839 to provide welfare for the desperately poor newspaper street sellers of London. One of our founding fathers was Charles Dickens who was president from 1854 to his death in 1870

We provide welfare for people who are, or have been, employed in the distribution, wholesale and retail of newspapers and magazines in the UK. This includes their immediate family and dependants who are in need, hardship or distress.

We rely on the volunteers who help with fundraising, donate their time by becoming an almoner, attend events, or offer business sponsorship. There are many ways to help.
